Reading and listening activity which has been tried and tested in the classroom in upper KS2.
The presentation allows the class to read/listen to extracts from the classic 'Gothic Horror' novel by Bram Stoker. * The work of the creator has been in the the public domain since 1962, so there will be no copyright issues*
Suggested use: Pupils choose up to 9 words from the list and play the Bingo game as the text is read out. This can be adapted to be played using any style you choose.

LO: To choose adventurous words for effect
This lesson initially uses a PowerPoint presentation to engage the learners through stimulating images and photographs. Pupils are then encouraged to create a bank a powerful verbs, nouns and adjectives based on the topic using the resource sheet. This bank will be very useful to refer to when completing any written tasks.
